So we are now into 2020, a brand new decade and the Nonsense of 2019 is behind us, regardless of it’s future effects. With this in mind, let’s explore Nonsense. Bring your poetic thoughts on all things nonsensical….we want to hear it!
Alongside of this utter silliness & Nicky hosting (again!), we have a special guest this month.
Eljai Morais was raised in Salisbury but moved to London in the late 90’s, where she continued her career path as a poet, writer, director & producer. In 1999, along with our very own Nicky, they were awarded a 4 star Scotsman review for their two woman theatre piece ‘Women on the Verge of…’
She has produced work across London throughout the last two decades and is the founder of Bawdsville Cabaret.
Eljai’s poetry is lyrical, rhythmic, aesthetically pleasing & varied, whether it be poetically comic characters or waxing lyrical on household objects, Motherhood or the darker elements of life, there is definite lack of consistency in her sets!
We look forward to brushing off the cobwebs of Christmas & embracing the New Year with a January shot of fun, see you on the 15th 😉 7.30 for 7.45, upstairs at The Pheasant, Salt Lane, Salisbury. We ask a contribution of £2-3pp please towards expenses.
Poetika is a spoken word and acoustic music Open Mic event held at The Pheasant Inn, Salisbury on the third Wednesday of every month. We welcome anyone and everyone one to read or perform poetry, comedy, music, song and stories, and enjoy those of others – no need to book a slot, just turn up and have fun. We meet in the Shoemakers’ Hall upstairs in the pub – very handy for the bar – good food too!
